underated games.

The Saboteur - impulse buy once without even having read a review , ended up loving it!

Also yes , Just Cause 2 strikes me as the video game equivalent to the movie "The Shawshank Redemption" , arrived without a stir and then once people became more aware of it it shot up in fame !

Got it from Good Old Games, but haven't tried it yet. Wondering how aged it will appear compared to my memories of it.

I tried to play it on Vista last year, but it was impossible even in xp mode. I'm shocked they didn't make second one.

As well no one mentioned Heroes of Might and Magic III is it just me who spend till 6 am playing this game with friends?

Lost hundreds of hours to this game. Absolutely awesome game.

It's one of the few games I've ever played to completion. The end sequence was quite groundbreaking for its time and I loved the way it described what later happened to each character in the game in a similar way that happens at the end of some films.

CIM remained with the team for many years and was constantly upgraded by them to the point he became self-aware. Using his new status as an individual he elected to depart them altogether. He was lost track of soon after.

I'd love to see a modern remake.

EDIT: After a bit of Googling it seems that DMA Designs who wrote Hired Guns later became Rockstar of GTA Fame :)

Shadow Warrior & Deadfall Adventures.

Both superb looking & have decent gameplay put the mega budget PC games of 2013 to shame by being very decent & well worth full price let alone digital sales price (I paid full retail price for both BTW).

Neither had a big publisher behind them so advertising was minimal they both deserve to sell well as for different reasons they both hit the spot on the PC ;)

A great big +1 to this. it was one of my favourite games on the PS1, and it is definitly the best in the NFS series. its a shame they stuck with the whole underground thing after that fantastic game

Played demo, felt great and stuck in my mind even though i never got the game

Resistance: Fall of Man

Not really 'under rated' but at least it never got the exposure it deserved.

Loved this when I first got a PS3

Metro 2033, stunning visuals great story but gets a lot of hate for some reason. I really just play Last Light....

Metro series is absolutely brilliant and stunning visuals

Alpha Protocol for me. Of course not perfect, but I found it really enjoyable not to mention the only game of it's kind. I really don't understand the slating this game got, which sadly killed off any hope of a sequel.

Just tried the demo and have no idea what's going on in battle :o.

And this is one of the exact reasons it's an underrated game.

I actually posted this over at another forum back in 09, that the demo will throw you randomly into combat and doesn't explain whatsoever what's going on. The actual game has a much better start. Probably one of the worst demos of a game ever tbh.

Personally, I've played through 3 times completely. :) Very good game imo!

If you decide to try it, I suggest doing the (graphical) tweaks listed at http://lastremnant.wikia.com/wiki/PC_Tweaking however do not suggest the "Change NPC equipment" as firstly it has issues with their automatic tier to tier weapon upgrade system when enabled and makes the game waaaay too easy if you abuse it, so steer clear of that edit.

I've heard talk about a third one in store for us :)

Hopefully :D. They were talking of a remake of the first to begin with but it's gone quiet since. Still quietly optimistic!

Ah right, I did think the full game might be less of a 'throw you in at the deep end' experience. I'll probably grab it when it inevitably goes on daily deal in a Steam sale :p. Cheers for the mod links :).
