Ofc not, i just didnt thoud i would be CPU bottlenecked on this cpu running on 5,0 ghz all cores.. But seems to be the issue..
So you would say to get more Gpu usage i should upgrade CPU to an 12900k or wait for the new 13700k + buy some better ram, lower timings + higher mhz ?

Or any ideas to future upgrade to gain some higher fps and more GPU usage..

in my mind running 70% gpu usage is like buying a VERY expensive snickers bar but only eating 70% of it and throwing the rest away, if you get my point :p

In all honesty, I would not be upgrading a system to meet 1080p targets when you have a 3080 that capable of at least 1440p. I would buy a new monitor over a 12th gen CPU.

I agree with @oldestgregg with your 3080, you should easily run 1440p.

This is my then 5600x CPU with RTX 3070 which the 3070 is considerably slower than a RTX 3080 no OC or with an OC.

I could easily run with no RT and drop some settings and hit over 200 FPS average on my now 5800x.

Had the same issue with my 3080 after installing those newer 5** drivers and trying DSDR. There was an issue where if you switched G-sync toggled G-sync wouldn't switch it back on even though it said it was. Ruined my GPU usage to 60-70% and suffered frame stuttering @4k. Hot fix wouldn't work nor DDU'ing and installing older drivers.

My mate had same issue on his 3080 too. Had to do fresh install of windows in the end and installed last working drivers I used 472.**

I don't think you need to spend any money - just time on a fresh Windows install as that was the only thing that cleared it for the both of us. Fn drivers

A 12900k would only give you a 15% to 20% boost so still not enough to fully utilise your 3080 which is overkill for a resolution of 1080p. A cheaper graphics card would get fully utilised.

I was using 1080p up until 2019. I didn't see the point in 1440p when 1080p has the same resolution as a Blu-ray movie which looks amazing. I upgraded anyway to see what the fuss was about and the image looked so much sharper. A 1080p game looks blurred in comparison to 1440p. But you cant see the blurriness until you try 1440p and then go back to 1080p.

Just buy a 1440p monitor.

10700K is still a top tier chip for gaming, would be madness to upgrade now imo. If you are looking to splurge some cash I woulld be looking at the 34" AW3423DW out this month for sure!

i just bought a new screen a year ago, and indeed 1440p it better, I can always upscale in render resolution from 1080p to 1440p..
but yes would deffnetley be better to upgrade the screen at some point..

I was a diehard 1080p for ages but dont regret it :)
