United States Grand Prix 2012, Austin - Race 19/20

Alonso needs to score 16 more points over Vettel.

I worked out that for alonso to win the WDC, he would either need to win both GP's, or, vettel could win one GP but would need to DNF the other GP, while alonso would still need to come 2nd in both GPs. So basically, no chance for alonso.

You maths isn't the best then.

Vettel is 10 points ahead of Alonso. So Alonso only needs to score more than 10 points more than Vettel to win the WDC.

Nobody needs to win.
