lol Ferrari. Most years have been years to forget in recent times, but 2019 is worse than most. The only bright point was bringing through Leclerc. I've stood up for Vettel up to a point for the past couple of years, but his good race weekends are increasingly a surprise rather than the norm. I sincerely hope that Ferrari's absent race pace is down to them switching focus to 2020 and 2021 designs.

A bright day for McLaren again. They really need to kick on next year and start challenging the top teams and Ferrari.

Rash. He was clearly so much faster that he could have taken less entry speed into that corner, left Perez space, and out-accelerated him afterwards. Pity, as he's been driving pretty well lately and trying hard to make Albon a less obvious choice for the vacant Red Bull seat.

You would expect Ferrari to be faster on the straights naturally due to their chassis/aero configuration but the key will be looking at the data and seeing if they where a lot slower compared to previous races; the car was moving a lot in the corners so the downforce still isn't amazing which you could use to justify a loss in straight line performance... Brazil will be an interesting test as the climb up to the start/finish would naturally favour a car with a higher output (at that location) with the rest of the track favouring cars with high downforce.

On the topic of the wonderful tyre graphic, apparently Pirelli were asked and have no idea where it comes from. I have no idea if that's true, but it is hilarious if true. Crofty seems to think it is gospel, Brundle seems more (and correctly) apprehensive.

It was a 5 from me. Generally dull race, and DRS ruined the suspense of Bottas/Verstappen catching Hamilton. He would have been 3rd had Verstappen had a chance at an overtake in to T12 without the waving yellows.

Still, well done to Lewis. By far the best and most consistent driver over the season, and a deserved champion.

Staking a real claim for the second seat at Red Bull.

I don't really see he's doing any better than Gasly. Both have been mediocre at Red Bull, trundling down well behind the rest of the top cars while their teammate competes with the best. At Toro Rosso, at least Gasly has managed to best Kvyat - although that seems to be at least as much to do with Kvyat going off the boil after again being rejected by Red Bull despite outclassing his teammate.

He's outscored Max by 14 points and Gasly (before he was booted. 12 races at RBR to Albon's 7) by 4 points since joining Red Bull. Yes he's not fighting at the front but he's definitely doing considerably better than Gasly and is arguably doing a better job for the team than Max.
