That tends to happen when one team is cheating. :D

We don't really know if Red Bull have a power unit advantage, I think it's more that Merc have a draggy car.

We've already heard that they have issues with moving to E10 fuel.

How many summers make a swallow?

I've met Summer. She doesn't swallow.

Hamilton said as much at the weekend. Something along the lines of “We’ve put a load of upgrades on, but we’re still more draggy than RB”.

I think Newey has nailed the aero yet again for RB this year. A very efficient design where they can add or remove drag how and when they please.

I expect it was more to get the paddocks opinion and FIA clarification now, so no other teams are tempted to head down that development path for next season.

Or maybe it was smoke and mirrors. Bring something highly visible and clearly not legal, so the other more subtle upgrades are glossed over. An existing wing with a few 3d printed addons - that's about a million worth of development there.

Yes and without cheating, unlike what Mercedes attempted to do this weekend with a very oblivious illegal front wing...
Seems like the opposite of obvious if the FIA initially gave it the thumbs up before they built it.

You do know that the majority of RB18's design took place under their illegal 2021 budget right? But I'm sure it was just a complete coincidence that the one team who cheated the budget cap just happened to win 2 years in a row after winning nothing for 7 years.

Norris was "heavily dosed up" on painkillers during the US Grand Prix.

What ever happened to the G-shock measurements for vibration? I'd be surprised if they weren't triggered during the race but nothing seems to have been mentioned about them since they were introduced :/

It might require a FIA mandated change to solve this, because no team wants to sacrifice their relative performance. Perhaps a cushioned plank, or perhaps a plank that doesn't skid as easily, so creates a lot of drag if they do bottom out? Or some other type of sensor to ensure they're not bottoming out anywhere on the track. Clearly, what worked in previous generations of F1 to ensure cars aren't running too low, is no longer working.

Oh look. More stupid ground effect causing issues! Crazy no one considered all this porpoising, bouncing and all the ill effects that come with it.

Yes, not good at all. However we've seen other teams manage to massively reduce the issue of porpoising throughout the season, some of whom were really struggling at the start. The reality is that the McLaren simply isn't a great car (Norris has been driving exceptionally to get the results he has) and they've not been an effective team for many, many years now. They produce poor initial design concepts and they develop incredibly slowly.

Zack should definitely concentrate on the inner workings of his own team, rather than writing letters to the FIA.
