Looking for a bit of advice, I sick of all my remotes taking up the arm of my sofa

Need to control Sky+, av receiver, blu ray player, md player and TV

Seems the harmony is the one to go for but not sure which model

I must admit I like my 885, easy to set up and easy to use.
I haven't a clue what the difference is between the models apart from things like colour screens though.

555 is nice. I bought one, 4 people have bought them after seeing mine.

Easy to setup and can be had for less than £45 delivered. The activites function is ace.

I hit play Xbox and the remote turns on the tv, amp and xbox. Puts TV to the correct HDMI, puts the amp on the correct input settings and away you go.

To turn off just press power and everything turns off. It also has the bonus of controlling the Xbox dash and movies with the remote, no faffing about with the controller.

Harmony here too..

Excellent customer support, couldnt get mine to work with my LG tv but after a call, they updated some software/firmware on my remote and got it working.

Also my remote packed in 2yrs after purchasing it, the rubber keys stopped working, contacted support and they sent me a new remote out in the post within a couple of days.

Superb.

They arent cheap, but you get what you pay for.

Im also interested in getting a logitech universal remote but they dont support bluetooth so wont be able to control the PS3 :( which kinda makes it naff having a universal remote and then the PS3 controller on the table and the macro functions cant control the PS3

siiiiiiigh

Can the 1000 do this? I like the idea of hitting one button and having everything turn on and the TV going to the right HDMI input. Sounds rosey.

I like the look of the Philips but it has no indication on their site as to what it is compatable with.

If you're looking at the Harmony 1000, you should have a look at the recently announced Harmony 1100. The Harmony One is also great if you can live without physical coloured buttons on Sky.

555 is awesome, Got it set up correctly now apart from turning on the tv. Not sure why, need to fiddle around a bit more with it.

As said you press one button and everything switches on, selects the right channels and away you go..

You can buy an IR remote for the PS3 and use the IR dongle with a universal remote to control it with macros. The only problem is - it wont turn your PS3 on. Saying that, you need to put a disc in most of the time anyway so you may as well switch it on whilst you are over ther ;)

Got a Harmony 525 for Christmas and I must say they are well worth getting, they take a bit of time to set-up but once they are you cannot live without. Despite what the second poster said the 525 will do up to 15 devices, more then enough in my opinion.

Slightly worried about battery usage since it never seems to turn itself off (after 2 hours apparently) and it has a motion sensor to turn it on and light up which is way too sensitive. I found just walking into our hardwood floor lounge turned it on.
