University shooting in the US

And if his victims were all armed he wouldn't of even considered doing something like this since he'd be shot dead in an instant.

That's like saying "We need to get rid of the snakes, so we've introduced giant bears into the cities."

And then;

"We need to get rid of the giant bears, so we've introduced blood-thirsty sheep-demons into the cities."

Trying to solve a problem, with an increased use of the original problem is not a solution.

These people do not think rationally, therefore we cannot really try to go to rational conclusions about why these events happen.

Well, not that rationally anyway; we often know it was because of bullying/childhood problems, but I still think it's incredibly difficult to try and understand why shooters act the way they do.

But it doesn't refute the fact that guns are so much easier to get hold of in the US. :confused:
My point was that some argue that in a more strict country such as the UK, that the hassle of finding a firearm would make someone think twice instead of simply pulling a gun of his pocket. Both arguments are valid to an extent.

This sums up my views nicely:

only in america. its a sadening event and i cannot udnerstand why someone would do a thing like that.
Yet america has gun shops, and if they wern't there the gunsman most likely wouldn't have had a gun in the 1st place

Are you forgetting that Dunblane and Hungerford are not in America?

Yes, but unlike america our sensible goverment banned automatic weapons after Dunblane and so far it's working as we have not had another massacre.

Also America has had many many more mass shootings than 2 like us.

Just because they are banned, doesn't mean people don't have them
