Yeah you need to go into the folder location of afterburner and open up
MSIafteerburner.cfg file using notepad.

Scroll down to atiadlhal and change it to this.
[ATIADLHAL]
UnofficialOverclockingEULA = I confirm that I am aware of unofficial overclocking limitations and fully understand that MSI will not provide me any support on it
UnofficialOverclockingMode = 1
AccessibilityCheckingPeriod = 0

then save the file

Also a good idea to disable "enable ULPS" in registry, Set 0 to disable this may only apply to crossfire, but worth a go if you are having problems

I tried to flash it in Position 1. The switch was flicked closer to the power connectors and was the 1536 shader bios. That bios now no longer works (black screen) so now I have to use the default 1408 shader bios and for some reason my card wont overclock for ****. Anything over the 840/1325 limit seems to make it crash or artifact.

what v-core are you using to get try to get past 840 core ? Sounds like you have it too low. 6950 bios will have a v-core of 1.10v. Try leaving the memory at 1250 and concentrate on getting the core speed up first.

I remember talking to you before actually I thought you got it to 910 at around 1.18v?

Using Sapphire Trixx 1.18v, +20% power, tried 880/1375 and whilst playing BF3 I got a black screen and had to do a hard reset.

910 vcore did exactly the same with 1250 memory I just forgot to update you in this thread.

very strange and hairy arse too!!
Have heard that unlocked 6950s sometimes don't work on z77 with a black screen.

Theres litle gain from trhe shader unlock anyway, but your gcard should be able to clock unless you are unlucky and have a pooper!
Shame you can't get the card to me, I could check to see if the bios is ok, or if not then I could reflash it by using my other 6950

This is my Racerx file that I use to change the reg after each install of CCC. Works perfectly for me. Just paste in notepad and save as .reg file. Double click to run, reboot and you should be able to up your clocks in CCC which for me has been much more reliable.

Edit: This still keeps the correct 2D clocks unlike a couple of other tweaks I have seen.

I flashed the BIOS in the switch where the shaders are already unlocked. I thought the other switch position with the default shaders was the original that couldnt be flashed

You do know you can boot up and then flick the switch, and flash a bios that won't make it bsod.
