Unreal Engine 4 Demo'd on K1 Tegra - OMG!!

Very impressive, but I must say this. My last nvidia device was htc onex this supported tegra 3 and my god the games that used it was simply stunning for mobile games.
But atm I'll never buy another locked down nvidia device again, within one year they wouldn't even support updates for the device. Not even rooting would work because nvidia wouldn't release the source code.

SSorry for little rant that's my feeling on there mobile approach.

Nice, I have to wonder though, will they be able to cool the K1 enough to give it enough power to deliver on the promises of the video, in the smaller form factors of tablets and phones?

With what is coming I don't see the new devices having such an issue, part of the issue there was maybe HTC / NVIDIA collaboration.

all dev engine things like this look ace do they end up looking like it ingame though? 99.9 percent = no.

only crysis ever looked close to its actual engine trailers.

also scripted stuff easier to do.

This thread is interesting, only because both the video and article are dated 26/06/2014. The way it is worded makes it sound something we didn't already know about or have already seen.

I think Nvidia are gearing up to make an announcement regarding a new device incorporating this tech:cool:

Gibbo probably knows more than he's able to say so perhaps he's just dropping us a few crumbs to prep us for an imminent reveal:cool:;)

Gibbo can you confirm or deny you're being a filthy tease!!???:D

Well the article tells us that Google and Nvidia are teaming up and the K1 will be integrated into a fair few upcoming Google products (Project Tango, Nexus 8, ...). Interesting stuff, these deals look to be quite lucrative for Nvidia - and that can only benefit us Nvidia customers in the end.

don't think it's clocked as fast as the reference chip in that tablet, maybe wrong though, still nice numbers. hopeful for a shield 2 announcement with this or the faster k1/denver 64 chip

mobile all comes down to TDP, if they can pull it off, tegra might finaly bring some benefit to nvidia...if the TDP is low, if not that would be another wast of R&D
