Its bad news I'm afraid, it looks like this game won't be hitting the shops any time soon, I have had a look at my pre-order and the release date has now been put back yet again to 01/09/2006. Trouble is I don't think that will even come close to the release date :(

But on a totally different note the new GTA game will also use the Unreal Engine 3 technology :)

Man that sucks...! I was really looking forward to this. Maybe the game is still very buggy? or they are waiting for good graphics card prices to drop? Or something? Does anyone know why its so delayed? :(

As much as I've been a fan of GTA since the very first 5 minute demo, I'm struggling to see how they can move the franchise onward....
An advanced physics engine (such as in UE3) will be a nice addition. That by itself won't drastically change gameplay but it'll increase the fun factor. It'll be cool to have people more realistically slump over your bonnet when you hit them in a car, or send people flying with a rocket launcher, etc. UE3 seems like a good fit for GTA imo.

There is still soo much the series can cover, and it doesn't have to be limited to an age era or the States, it can goes worldwide ;)

i'd personally like to see a GTA set in the future. Bit like the setting for the Fifth Element.

Flying cars and giant skyscrapers for t3h win

i remember sitting here before xmas with it saying "13/01/2006" with it being a big **** up in the release date, hoping somehow i'd manage to get UT2007 early...

why must all the greatly anticipated games get delayed so much? :(

Sounds good, personally I would like to see an Japanese one with the Yakuza, Triad's, Ninja's and lots of Nissan Skylines ;)

Never expected a good game like UT2007 to be on time.. long as it's amazing when it does come out, I don't mind :)

(means more time to delay X1900 XT purchase :p)

I remember hearing about a GTA-style mmorpg in the works, called "APB" thats being developed under the supervision of the creator of the original GTA franchise. Think its coming to Xbox360 tho not PC :(

As far as i'm aware Epic have never stated a specific release date for UT2007. All they have said is that it will 'definately' be out in 2006. Many places still have March as the release date and i would have been surprised if it was due out in January. Personaly i don't expect it until Q3 at least.

Epic seem to always go on the 'when its done', they never announce release date too far ahead.
