Unreal Tournament 2007

Well, to be honest, as it's called UT2007, I was expecting it to come out closer to 2007, but hey :p

Interesting that the next GTA will be using UE3 engine. That means the engine should be massively scalable, and not just for small things like indoor buildings. It'll be interesting to see a new RPG like Deus Ex to come out on the UE3 engine, that would be ace :D

My thoughts exactly, I've always figured this game would be coming out for the 2006 holiday season.

Prey is/was due for a Q1 2006 release allegedly but I can't see them making that, since the game appears to have been completely redesigned since it's original incarnation in 1997-8.

Unreal Tournament 2007 (previously codenamed 'Envy') is Epic Games' sequel to Unreal Tournament 2004. Published by Midway Games, UT2007 is powered by Epic's new Unreal Engine 3, and is due to be released on PC and PlayStation 3 in the second quarter (April-June) of 2006. Rumors of a future Xbox 360 release have not been confirmed.

mixed feelings about this.

a lot of diehard UT fans feel they got totally shafted with UT2003 & 4 - both games changed too many of the things that were felt to be unique within the game.

with 2k7 they promised to stick more to the original game but we all have our doubts.

now the game has slipped back for release it means we have to wait longer to know if they have lived up to their promise.

perosnally pseaking I am still happy to play UT online a lot but I realise the whiole scene is becoming smaller and smaller.

2k7 has the potential to recapture the public as UT and Q3 did back in 1999.

Never expected a good game like UT2007 to be on time.. long as it's amazing when it does come out, I don't mind :)

(means more time to delay X1900 XT purchase :p)

Exactly, you may as well hold off till the G80/R600, as the x1900 might be lucky to see 1x of its shader intensive intensive games before they are released, which will make it not worth buying, not for about 1x game anyway.

As i said before, should have gone for the cheaper x1800's as they will run the same games as the x1900's until the next gen.

Old skool post bump :p Too late :(

X1900 XTX arrived today :D

Which maps and weapons from UT2K4 will make an appearance in UT2K7?

Lots of franchise favorites will be making a return appearance. On the weapon front you can expect new and improved versions of the Shock Rifle, Rocket Launcher and Flak Cannon. In our eyes, it just wouldn’t be UT without them. For maps, you can expect fan favorites like DM-Deck and CTF-Face getting the UE3 treatment. We’re pretty excited about all our new maps, but some of those classics have been in every incarnation of UT, and 2K7 won’t break the tradition.
UT2007 Q&A with Producer :)

If they aren't included in the game someone is bound to remake them as happened with all the original UT's maps being made for UT2004.
I know I for one will be mapping for UT2007 as soon as its out :D
I map under a different name though, (The_Head)

I re-installed UT2004 at the wkend, to see how it looked on the shiny new X1900 XTX.. walk in the park running max detail, 6x aa + 16x af etc
