"Up and running ps3"

No overheating, left on for more than 12 hours.... This is comforting so far. :cool:

It's alive! An anonymous insider at the PS3 Forums snapped a pic of a working PLAYSTATION 3 with a mobile phone. What's more, the insider said the machine is relatively quiet, save for some booting noise. The console had apparently been on for 12 hours with no overheating problems. Another pic, after the jump, shows the console's back. The closer cable is the power cable, while the other one is the HDMI cable. As we get mentally prepared to pay for the machine, this inside info is comforting.

Perhaps it is all non-sense and false excitement but this news kinda seem genuine somehow.

It looks like its in some housing with air flow coming in from the bottom. You can see the numerous fan holes at the base. No wonder its not overheating

My 360 hasnt crashed or had to be returned since launch day, doesnt mean that there aren't others that have

(in other words, lets wait until they are being mass produced and released before we comment)

nah there are quite a few in the open at the TGS i seen some 1up pictures of it floating around on the ps.com boards. Its looking very very very shiney lol they even had the wee clothes out to keep them fingerprint free

Everytime I see one I immediately think "damn it's ugly". I wasn't and still am not a huge fan of the 360s aethetics but it's a mile ahead of that thing!

Have Sony made a console that has been perfect in the first 2 generations yet? No.

It hasn't overheated in 12 hours, my 360 managed a week without overheating I'm not sure of the relevance.

They also didnt say it was playing a game for 12 hours did they

It had just been on for 12 hours, they didnt say loaded.

I have a launch PS2 and a Launch Slim PS2 never had a problem and got my PSX about a year after launch, not a single problem.
Not saying its perfect but i would like to see PS2 returns Vs 360 returns. Even PSp vs 360.

Have MS made a console thats been perfect?? there are people on here onto there 4th and 5th 360, dont know anyone who is onto that number of PS2's and the PS2 has been out 5 years longer.

Incidently i have a launch day 360 and its never missed a beat.

Sorry what parts were they? Your whole post apart from that was pretty much a quote and then saying if its speculation or not.

And I know your not asking me to part with my £600, but thats how much they cost at the end of the day with a game.

And I've had a 360 since launch with no problems, and so have millions of others. Your never gonna see a thread saying "My 360 has had no problems" or "A Year on and no problems", you'll only see the negative stuff

I'm sure the price of the PS3 goes up everytime someone mentions it :confused:

Last I read it was £425 for the 60GB version with Europe now getting the 20GB version that's going to be cheaper?

It would appear that Sony can indeed do nothing right. They dont have working consoles to use they get slated, they have working consoles they get slated its just the way it is on here unfortunatly

I had a duff PS2, as did my brother. I also remember many people having to return their machines due to various problems. My old PlayStation still works fine, though (and is used every thursday for a worms league that has lasted ages

Sorry but they have great reason to be slated. I'm not a fanboy before you start either, pretty much most of the products in my room are Sony, PS1/2, PSP, TV, Surround System, DVD player. So I have nothing against Sony

But they have seriously messed up with the PS3. Promised so much and delivered so little. They've delayed it/upped the price/got rid of promised features and many more things.

And if you paid attention before the 360 release, there was a fair bit of Microsoft bashing going on, maybe not as much, but they didnt do much wrong apart from the lack of products on release. Just my opinion of course

just to clarify the only thing they done was delayed it. The price was never 'upped' it was just annoucned it lol
The only features they removed was a second HDMI out and 2 NIC's no great loss.

I did pay attention to the prior to the 360 launch, the 360 bashing was minimal, especially compaired to this. There was even a thread saying 'dont slate the 360' when people where not even slating it, it was all rather amusing.
the 360 launched worldwide, but i might be wrong in saying this but i think the PS3 is launching with as many consoles as the 360 did, just in fewer territories. the 360 was showin off, but was uncovered as being a G5 runing the games but they showed the 360 case off. They had a launch event which showed very little 360 but showed the Killers live a lot Yet still managed to survive unscathed on here. Sony have a couple of muppets giving press conferences and its game over
I wouldnt say you where a fan boy, just disgruntled with the PS3 for some reason.
