up at 4am and going coursework..

15,000 words

My dissertation length is about 2/3 of what you have left to write. How the hell do you have a 30k word piece of coursework for A2?

I just find it hard to believe that your A2 coursework is significantly longer than the majority of dissertations.

My dissertation is 10-15,000 words plus an artefact.

A friend of mine did Business at a level, produced nothing near the word count the OP has to and he got 2 A's!

did he have the same piece of coursework though?
There was an option to do an exam instead of coursework which i am no thinking i should have done.....

well it is, i could send you the example im going off if you would like? :p

gah im hungry, not eaten since about 8:mad:

You should see the amount of work we get in ICT, the last one i did was about 120 pages long, then a day after handing that in we were given our next piece!!

Are you sure you are expected to provide a report of similar length to the examples. No matter how much you say it, I refuse to believe you need to write in excess of 30,000 words.

we weren't given a word count it was more like a "it will be as long as it needs to be"
and to be honest im not writing an excessive amount for sections, im just writing in detail and im half way through and on 40 pages, 15,000 words.

New way to say your dog ate your homework? :p

Good luck with getting it finished!

haha!

Thankyou Kyuss, im gonna need it!

Page 34 says...

The coursework project (BU5C) is available to candidates entered for
the full A Level specification and it accounts for 15% of the total
A Level marks. Candidates must complete one project, either chosen
from the range of specified projects listed in Section 19 below or one
of their own choosing. Each involves primary research, either within
a specific organisation or via a survey of consumers or retailers. The
research focus for the project should usually be local rather than
national. The recommended number of words for the project is
approximately 3000 excluding any tables, figures and appendices.
Projects which greatly exceed this recommended word count are likely
to lose relevance, focus and clarity of expression which may preclude
them from gaining marks in the higher levels of the assessment
criteria.

I think you've somehow added an extra 0...

I'm doing coursework as well!! Except it's ICT, I gave my Economics in last week.

bad times, what is your ICT coursework, is it analysing a publication and then producing your own 10 publication promoting an organisation of some sort?

hmmm, i have never seen that and have no idea as to how that wordcount is possible to be honest, there is no way that all the sections could even be included at that let alone enough detail to get the marks:confused:

Well i almost fell off my seat when you said 30,000...as did many. A friend of mine, well ex-friend, is on the same course as myself. She is VERY detailed with everything she does, always going over the word limit. I achieved a grade 1/3 higher than hers and under the word limit simply because sometimes the best thing to do is keep it simple.

...so either you're now WAY over the limit and didn't pay attention in class or you're lying. ;)

Mate it's A2 it doesn't matter.

aha, well i am completely lost now, i will have to ask my teacher tomorrow about it (out of curiosity as it is a bit late to do anything about it now!)
I would agree with what you say but its just that all of the examples we have been given are between about 25,000 - 50,000 words!

Yeah do ask. Looks like you've done a lot of work. ;)
