No. It depends on the plastic. I've melted a plastic frying pan handle by having it in the oven at 160C.

pretty much most thermoplastics will be melted at 250C. i used to work as a injection molding technician in a plastics factory, and the melt temperatures ranged from about 180C (polypropyline) to 250 - 275C (nylon, polycarb,ABS ect)
i just looked at a plastic handle on a cooking utensil (nylon) and it says heat resistant to 230C - it will start to melt not much higher than that

250 is pretty high - i would expect most plastics to either melt or decompose at that sort of temp.

As others have said, it depends on the plastic.

Also consider what you're using it for, as the plastic might soften sufficiently to make it unusable at a temperature much lower than it's melting point.
