Update on broken seal 780ti's

Whilst I think OCUK need to investigate this and it is a customer service issue, I am not impressed that they moved the last thread related to this to the closed area.

We all need to hear the results of their investigation so I think this thread should remain open and OCUK can help clarify details and reassure customers. Many of us still want to buy stuff from here but things like this don't inspire confidence.

+1 I'd like to here there take on this as receiving opened/used goods shouldn't really be happening.

Absolutely.

I buy from OcUK not because of the prices (they're often not the cheapest reputable prices) but because of the service.

Now if this service is going down the pan I'd like to know, preferably not first hand!

Don't worry it's only 8-Pack binning them.

Bit naughty TBH.

If this is true then it's completely unacceptable.

Oddly enough i received my Maximus VII Gene this week and noticed finger prints around the socket and heat sinks  I'm too busy at the moment to test it but everything else looks to be in order.

I'm hearing too many of these kind of complaints lately for my liking.

I just spoke to Rob at OCuk and he has told me that it was unacceptable and that he will send me out two new cards! This time he will send the SUPERCLOCKED stock cooler EVGA versions (which is a nice apology) and that I can send the old cards back after I receive the new cards due to being already put out. He has ensured me that the new cards are still in their cellophane wrap and has checked the boxes himself.

Very happy at the outcome. I will update once I have the cards to confirm they are the SC versions and still in the cellophane wrap as I'm sure people will like to know that OCuk sort out their mistakes.

yes it is, but I request that this topic NOT BE MOVED to the closed off area like the last one until I get the cards and confirm all is in order. Please +1 this post to show some support for this! And thanks alex_123_fra for the show of support already in keeping this topic here:)

Thanks

Nice result indeed. Well done OCUK. Now we just need one of the dons to come on and explain what went wrong in their processes and what has been done to prevent it happening to future orders/customers.

I think it's always worth contacting OcUK customer service first, and getting a resolution from them first, Before slatting them on the forums.
However I've been in your situation and it sucks! but at least it's sorted with a nice little apology :)

Have fun with your EVGA they rock!

This.

Hello

Any customer service topics are moved to the customer service thread for issues to be resolved via the Don's, Mods and Admins.

I am glad Rob has sorted the issue however, I believe you called up and asked for me but I was in a meeting so I wasn't available.

Do you need me to call you to speak about this issue or has Rob resorted the faith?

Bailey

I did contact them the first time. This is the second time I have dealt with RMA for my gpus in my system build. I believe people should know what happened or ocuk might make the same mistake again. I say mistake as I am willing to give them the benefit if the doubt. They have rectified the issue and Rob is sending out better cards that he has promised are still in their cellophane wrap. As I said I will update when I receive the cards.

Thanks for your time
Spike

I'll aya one thing, OCUK always rectify any mistakes. Customer service second to none. Well played. Wonder what actually happened though?

It's people sending unwanted or broken items back via the 7 (14 here at ocuk) DSR. I'm willing to bet the goods returned as "unwanted" are not being checked properly, if at all. So when people return their broken items as "unwanted" someone else is getting lumbered with it.

Same thing happened to be got a used and completely broken tr-x 290.

I doubt that's true. Not unless standards have slipped. They refused an AM2 board once from me as there was a 'knick' in the outer packaging.

It's most likely just going back into stock by mistake...

Probably.
