Update on broken seal 780ti's

I never mentioned anything about poor CS, in fact it's been top dollar, eg. Ocuk paying for collection etc. I'm not the first to have received opened and used goods on here (although in regards to my case, I received my own returns). You don't have to believe me or not, I'm not really interested, I'm just sharing my experience, somewhat similar to the original OP thread, that was moved privately.

Can you give me your order number please and I'll get this looked into so can prevent it happening again, I will even get you sorted out with a load of free stuff as well. So post your order number up please. :)

Well after fully inspecting the cards I found finger prints on them, so not new at all. Also, the cards had less items in one of the boxes... one card had 2 socket protectors missing from it (the DVI ones) whereas the other had them all. The packaging was even placed in different places. The cards constantly give me driver crashes with even 20MHz oc, whereas I was promised that these cards would match my old card speeds. Another lie.

So to sum up: -

Tampered with and pre opened boxes
Missing items
Finger prints on the metal parts of the card (where the sockets are)
Constant driver crashes

NOT HAPPY. Now I will have to send these back and wait YET AGAIN for replacements. Well not happy with doing that. I also don't trust the new one's will be new, so I am going to ask for new cards to be sent before I send these back or I start quoting iso9000 and overclockers.co.uk to the trading standards authority!

I bought a gigabyte 7950 a while back and when I received it the box had clearly been opened and the GPU itself was covered in fingerprints. I contacted Bailey and he sorted the issue for me instantly (Replacement), if you ever have an issue just talk to OCUK Staff because they are excellent.

Heading to the forum and stating that you will contact "trading standards authority!" is very immature and highly disrespectful on your part.

Highly disrespectful? I would say getting a used £550 card was disrespectful. He said if ocuk didn't replace them for new cards he would contact trading standards which I think he would have been entitled to do. Like you touched on, OCUKs after sale customer service is second to none which is the reason many of us shop here.

I do not see the point of making a a scene on the forum when all you have to do is contact OCUK Staff directly and the problem will be resolved instantly. And yes of course it is disrespectful, I would never make a thread about a problem I had with an order because if I want it resolved swiftly I would contact OCUK staff.

They are only human, mistakes can be made. It is how they are resolved which shows there customer service.

Hi Gibbo,

Original order - Order Number: OC1775720
Second order - Order Number: OC1783836
Third order - Order Number: OC1787243

I only posted here to share my own experience with the OP, my intentions is just that, not because of bad customer service or owt, in fact, as I say, it was top dollar over the issue.

He hardly started a scene. He posted he was unhappy and forum members pointed to the CS section where it was soon resolved. I fail to see where the disrespect comes in.

My opinion is it wasn't a mistake as there's been too many cases of it. If this was a competitor doing this, everyone would be up in arms. Basically used goods for new prices. I know it was sorted out quickly for OP, but others may accept it, or not even notice that it's been opened.

Thanks shall get this over to our RMA manager who will get back to you later next week.

Also what was the reason you originally returned them for please?

I wouldn't have thought it's RMA stuff being sold as new, but it might be DSR stuff as DSR tends to be easier to get money back than using the RMA procedure.

Considering the size of OCUK, their B-Grade section isn't exactly brimming with all these DSR returns, so they must be going somewhere, ie potentially resold as new.

It was excessive coil whine from the GPUs which was the reason. When I say excessive whine, I mean the cards screamed in game and also when not being stressed at all. I upgraded to a new Superflower 1000w at same time from yourselves and bought another two GPUS, the whine was still there (same cards sent out), i returned those and then bought again (received same back), same excessive coil whine. The rest of my rig was pretty much bought from OCuk around the same time.

Currently rocking no GPUs since and using the built in GPU on my CPU until the new cards arrive. At least i'm getting a steady 250fps in Quakelive, that's all that matters :)

Just wanted to share my experience with ocuk, I hadn't ever had to return anything but I recently got a Power Color R9 290 PCS+ which black screened at default memory speed.

I sent it back and received a replacement the next day, second one was faulty but still got the same faultless service, 3rd one had a broken fan, all problems with Power Colours QA but I cannot fault Ocuk's service, it's the best I've had.

Going back to Nvidia instead now, just got to decide whether to go with a 780 or a 780ti.

Every card I received was factory sealed.

You have to be joking, right? It's people like you who are being disrespectful! Because you didn't make your issue public no one is to know that this kind of behaviour happens making it easy for companies to get away with it. You are disrespecting fellow customers by not making your issues known! These reasons are exactly why forums exist.

Now get off your high horse and take a hard look in the mirror. I made my issues known with ocuk by phone before I came here and made it clear I was going to post here and had the respect to inform them beforehand. How's that for respect? If they don't have a problem with it, then why do you?

If anything they have shown that they want to correct their "mistakes".

Thanks and good luck
Spike

Well said. Don't worry, you were in no way being disrespectful.

Spouting off your going to contact "trading standards authority!" is laughable and yes I do see it as disrespectful, if you want some attention why not visit 4chan.

You really lack the ability for logical thought so I will say good luck to you and farewell. And next time this happens I will say hang on i'll bend over so you can screw me again as Thrusty doesn't want me being disrespectful;)

Anyways you are entitled to your opinion just as I am. Goodbye.

Thanks
Spike

Well he keeps dodging the request for his order number so that says it all. Even been offered free stuff for his cooperation :D

Dodging what? Sorry but I live a busy lifestyle and have other priorities to attend to first and foremost. I didn't post here hoping to get freebies (far from that), I only posted as I wanted to share my experience with other members including the OP.

As for others who said I am BSing, well I've just supplied my order numbers from which RMAs are attached. You should invest in new meters.

Lol guy's lets all take a chill pill. I've lost my temper too so I'm as much to blame. The important outcome is that the very talented CS team at ocuk have rectified their mistake! They have gone all out to make me happy! That's important to me as is stopping this kind of thing happening again! ;)
