Update on my Teg.

Shipping company contacted me yesterday requesting ID for customs perposes and confirming the ship will be here on or around the 12th. Jap de-reg papers are in my possesion. Not long now :D

Due to unforseen logistical problems, there will be a short delay in delivery.

You have probably been asked this countless times before, but are you saving a lot by importing it yourself? Or are you doing it for other reasons?

PMSL @ Merlin :D

Yep, purely to save money. I'm saving around 1500 quid.

Apparantly it was washed up on that beach in Cornwall but when the scavangers realised it wasn't a Type R they left it. :p ;)

It sounded like a honest deal to me :(

Also, Mr Umbogomacodlukhao said he would throw one of his wife's into the deal

Main difference is 17bhp. There are numerous differences under the skin, but in the real world there isn't a lot between them. It doesn't take much to get the SiR to be quicker around a track than a stock Type-R.

Its lighter and stiffer all round and i think the engines slightly lighter for better response. Could be wrong there tho.

The Type R video which was posted a few weeks ago covered the differences, was on google videos. The type R was quite a bit quicker than the SIR over a quarter mile.

Indeed, basic being the main point to note. The money hes saved over the type R version and particularly the insurance would cover more than enough mods to offset that aswell as a more 'road friendly VTEC' with about 20lbft more torque at 5k.
