Upgrade advice on 8800gt 256mb

Really? Odd :/
I only picked up this 256mb 8800gt because it was £50 at the time, when they were all about £120. Might leave an upgrade until next year, then go to a GTX280 and Phenom II 920.

iirc the 256mb versions of the 8800gt were different not just in memory size. They had less bandwidth or something. Not going to google it now but they fall behind the 512mb quite a bit at times.

a 4850 would go well with that system. Are you planning of getting a monitor? Actually I'd expect that PC to be pretty good if you are only using 1024x768. That's a very low resolution these days.

I am saving up for a 1440x900 16:10 monitor, yes. I do seem to get about 30fps on FC2 with no AA and everything on medium, is this normal?
EDIT - yes, my card has less bandwidth - normally they have 57.8gb/s but mine has 44.7gb/s.
