Has anyone successfully managed to get Orange to waiver the £99 charge..or any charge for the 4s when upgrading their phone?

I've just been on to them and the woman, as nice as she was just said that Apple set the tariff..which is clearly ********.

They have the exact same deal 600 mins, unlimited text, 500mb data and a 16GB 4s on Dial-a-phone, or Orange for FREE..yet if I go direct its £99.

Any feedback would be great! Including sensible suggestions on words and phrases I can say. "Can I speak to a supervisor?" perhaps?

Cheers all.

They'll be nice if you've gone over contract limits over the course of your previous contract, if you haven't they won't, simple as. If they don't think you'll make them money by going over they won't fight to keep you.

Just make sure you know you sound like you know what you're talking about and you should be okay, e.g. quoting that orange deal, or find another service provider's example contract so they realise they can't try and overcharge you (if that's what they're doing, if they're not then they won't likely budge).

On the 4s I doubt they'll shift too much as whatever they do demand will be pretty constant.

You were right on one thing, they didn't shift on the handset price at all.

BUT! After having asked for the details on what I would have to do to leave as I was a bit disappointed in their inability to be flexible and that I could just save myself £100 by leaving I was offered a pretty good contract of "Unlimited everything" so I've got unlimited calls, texts and data (3GB) for £36 a month.

Still had to pay for the handset but now every landline and mobile is a magic number ^_^
