Hi

I currently have a stock AMD Ryzen 2600 and TUF B450M-PLUS mobo with a Vega 64 card

I'm slightly confused around the performance increase if I upgraded to a

3600X or 3700X Ryzen running on my B450 board

I hear that the Ryzen 7 would benefit from the X570 3700X and not the Ryzen 5 3600X

Also what is the performance increase from a 2600 to 3600X

I'm only gaming on this PC

Thanks

I think you should hold off. But if you really want an upgrade, imo, a gpu upgrade will be better. But the thing is, your system is well balanced. Ryzen Gen 1 and 1+ see a lot of benefit using fast ram and tight timing. Something like 3200 CL14 and ideally 3466 CL14.

I read from 2600X to 3600X in gaming is about 11% increase with a high-end gpu like a 2080.

EDIT: That motherboard is one of the few that can make use of PCIe 4.0 if paired with Ryzen 3000.

I'm really impressed with the 3600X, vs the 8700K there is nothing at all between them.

Edit: small gap here, still though, little for the 8700K to say about it.

Hi all

Yes I game @ 1440P and it does run ok

But getting between 100 - 145 FPS in different games

Just wondering if going from a stock 2600 to a 3600X would add much difference to the FPS

probably about 20 fps max. maybe sell your gpu put that money together get a 5700xt. probably be better. i wouldnt upgrade from a 2600 to a 3600. also remember a lot of the benchmarks show the 3600x not the 3600 which is another £50.

that or pick up a cheap 2700 and overclock.

If you're going to do that ^^^^ wait for AIB 5700/XT's, the reference cooler is holding them back, AIB's with their coolers it will be faster, quieter and cooler.

I think AIB 5700/XT's will arrive later next month.

yeah was thinking of buying one myself but when you see people straps fans to a brand new card as soon as they buying it you know its either red hot or too noisy. the thing is how much extra will custom cards be.

Hopefully not much if anything. it's worth waiting.

i just looked on the amd official site and prices are actually lower than the deals the other day :D

the xt could be the new 7950 . when pricing settles these could be great bargin cards .

yeah. loved my 7950 ;)
5700xt just needs a good cooler and hopefully lives up to its hype as a good overclocker...
(of course, as always, price needs to be right)

still have 3 x 7950s. really amazing cards still as fast as a amd 570 card made 7 years ago !

has anyone got a 5700xt and run on 50-60 percent fan constant is it noisey ? also what temps does that yield while gaming. also how much difference does the extra oc give ? anniversary is like £20-30 quid more.might be worth it. does it run cooler ?
