Current system is

2500k
Asus mobo p87 I think lol
4GB ram
Win 7 64bit
Psu mod extreme 600
Gts 250

I would like to upgrade the GPU and PSU

I am looking at around the £200 Mark.

I would like to run world of tanks on the highest settings.

My gts 250 is doing a great job, running at med settings and getting around the 62fps with v sync locked on

I think my budget is not enough.

In my eyes I am looking at £200 for GPU and £100 psu?

If I don't have enough money then let me know.

I plan to give up console gaming and sell my 360 and equipment.

The psu is around 2 years old. And has been stress free for 22 months. I have only been gaming for around a month or so.

So come at me bro :)

World of Tanks on HIGHEST?, My 590 I get 60fps on the dot, (AA on max, and everything else, 1920x1080) any lower and you notice the lag so for £200, you wont hit max settings

If you are looking to play the latest and greatest :

YOUR BASKET
1 x Sapphire ATI Radeon HD 6950 "Dual Fan Edition" 2048MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card with FREE DIRT3 Game £199.99
1 x Lepa B-Series 750W '80 Plus Bronze' Modular Power Supply £72.98
Total : £284.38 (includes shipping : £9.50).

There is the OCUK 6950 VTX. That could do the job as well. 560ti are cheaper, and performs in the same ballpark. I like the higher VRAM of the ATI, which I'm sure will come in handy in the future.

Oh dear lol. Hmmmm lol.

Don't know what todo now.

The graphics do look great on med settings. Then even looked fab on low lol.

Maybe I should try and get a bit more cash. As I don't want to upgrade it now, if I could hVe put another 50£ and got something a lot better :(

choices then :)
- 6870.
- 560ti
- 6950.

These cards will come to their own in the most modern and demanding games.

You can just wait and see really. You don't 'need' to buy now, as you seem happy with your setup.

The PSU will give you plenty of headroom, even in crossfire (650W will do the trick, but 750W is more headroom).

I'm not even sure you need to change your PSU at all BTW. The OCZ 600W is good enough for a single card. Although not the best PSU in the world.

Bin your GPU and go for a 6950 as a min for future proofing yourself. A good quality PSU is a must though. Don't skimp on a good PSU.

Rules of Rig Building

Do not skimp on the power supply.
DO NOT SKIMP ON THE POWER SUPPLY.
Just because it looks good, doesn't mean it's any good.
When building a rig, dirt cheap is generally too good to be true.
Make sure your site is a good one, don't buy from a crappy one.

OCUK all the way :D
