Hey, I have been thinking about going for a 780TI but I am in two minds about whether its a worthy upgrade or not or maybe I should be looking to upgrade something else first?

The GPU is the weakest spot in your rig, however depends what games you play and at what res. Is the 7950 struggling at anything?

I play a lot of MMOs/Mobas so I wouldn't say it struggles to much, it more comes down to I like new things xD but of course I want to make it a worthy upgrade.

1080p

Maybe selling those monitors and buying a 27" one is an option?

I would rather keep two screens as I notice the difference while gaming on a 144hz from a 60hz screen. The main reason I am torn between buying a new GPU is the fact the newer ones are on the horizon so to speak.

Anyone know when they will be making an appearance? Because if its a large enough period i can justify buying a new GPU

I'm sure you'll notice the difference going from 1080p to 1440p as well :p If you're into FPS games I would understand but even then 1440p is still a viable option.

As for GPUs I don't think anything is on the horizon this year, Nvidia have delayed their next line of cards till next year. AMD will release new Radeon cards late this year or early next

Then it comes down to looking for the right 780 ti, so far I am down to three models but I have always been with AMD so I am not 100% sure which is better on the green side.

Oh and why i am thinking about it is 3GB going to be enough for future games?

Because I heard more cons than pros about the 290x, if I am going to buy a GPU at this current time I would buy a 290x/780ti nothing lower range. Would work out a waste of money for me.

I'd put a £400 cap on it anything more is ridiculous as you're delving into 780Ti price territory. Shame you need a hefty three slot cooler that costs nearly £500 for a well cooled 290X
