Thank you. It was mainly for aesthetics. The NZXT cooler I have probably would work but I’ll have a read of the abovefor the cooler, thermalright frozen prism 360mm (review: https://gamersnexus.net/coolers/the...-5690-360mm-liquid-cooler-frozen-prism-review )
there's a 240mm version available too
as to where to get it from...google is your friend
but to be honest, the 7600 is pretty easy to cool, if you want to save some money currently you can just used the included stock cooler (which is also incidentally why i didn't spec a cooler in the first place)
if your nzxt cooler still works, the AM5 mount is exactly the same as the AM4 mount so you can just use it
you don't need "thermal paste remover" standard bog roll is more than sufficient
AM4 mount = AM5 mount
If it's good enough for your arse, it's good enough for your CPU!
Thanks that makes some kind of sense. I was watching a few videos with regards to more or less what you have mentioned. I think at this point any saving is a plus for meThe 7800xt is more akin to the 4070 non-super
So, the 4070 super is faster (the equivalent Radeon card is the 7900 GRE)
The Radeon cards have more vram
The Nvidia cards have better software support (rtx and dlss) and cuda and also less power hungry
Spot on that’s good information too. I’m adding everything you have mentioned to the basket. Just building up the bravery to press the checkout button without the Mrs kicking off too much haha!the price differential between the cards (4070 vs 6800xt, 4070 super vs 7900GRE) isn't massive over the lifetime of the cards as you save on the power bill, and also nvidia cards tend to hold their value better in the used market
radeon's larger vram will always be useful over time for pure rasterisation performance but definitely DLSS is better than the radeon equivalent
tl;dr it's not a clear cut choice

Thanks. I had a look at the ASUS AMD TUF GAMING B650 but maybe that’s overkillJust post what you decide to get so we can have a look through.
If you have extra budget I would also recommend hopping over to a b650 motherboard. Something like the MSI b650m-a that @Gray2233 linked.
I’ve had a look at these. I had a 250gb Samsung 970 eco m.2 which I was going to use as the OS drive but for the price, is it worth buying new both a storage drive and a new drive for the OS?@arjgrundy actually change the ssd from the nv3 to the sn580: https://www.overclockers.co.uk/wd-b...cie-gen4-solid-state-drive-sto-wdc-00540.html
just realised that the nv3 is QLC nand-based (the sn580 has TLC nand)
the nv3 is a faster drive on paper but the sn580 has vastly better endurance
(the sn580 probably has better sustained performance compared to the nv3 as QLC slows down to a crawl once the cache is depleted)
Cheers MickyReuse it it's fast enough unless you need a bigger drive.

eh what? if you want to reuse your evolv then just get a 3-pack of thermalright ARGB fans. google: Thermalright TL-C12C-S X3
these are barely £4.50/fan for ARGB fans and are pretty good (and much better than fans that normally come with budget cases)
and yes, i use these fans in my pc too
