Santa came early this year and gave me £300 :-)

I was thinking about a new rig, but then i thought it would be more cost effective if i just upgraded over time, rather then V12 finance etc etc...

I've just had an insurance claim come through, which was for an old laptop and the insurance company gave me £300 worth of vouchers :-)

Dont have to spend it all, but if i wanted a good upgrade to my system where would i be best putting the money?

I'm currently scouting eBay for a 2nd hand 250GB SSD so no need to inc that.

My system at the moment is in my Signature.

Thanks

would agree with Stulid if you want the best bang for buck is go second hand, dunno if you have access to the MM section or not but might be a idea to look in there as well.

Would love access to spend some peenies guys :D

2nd hand i5 CPU, GFX card upgrade if you play games.

A nice 1440p monitor or 1080P 144Hz?

exactly what i was kinda thinking, i5 3570k are about the £120-150 mark, but then what would £150 get me for a GFX?.. my 7850 was £150 when i got it about 12 months ago...

I was thinking i5 2500 sandy bridge or similar.

They are under £100 and a 2nd hand R9 290 is under £200.

the other thing i was thinking, was because im looking into the future at a new'ish rig, only a build time of about 6 months to save up etc.

New Z97 mobo, with a 4690K??

Next upgrade will be H440 as sizing of it is perfect for my desk and it looks lovely :-)

Would love the Phanteks Enthoo Pro, but its to tall my 2mm I think :-(
