Upgraded GPU. Computer wont boot

Ok, so I just upgraded my 560Ti to a 770. and when I try and boot my PC I am stuck at post with B2 in the Bottom Right of the screen (which eventually fades to a screen with just a flashing horizontal line in the top right).

My motherboard is an MSI z68A-GD65 (G3) 1155
CPU i52500k
PSU Antec 650W 80Plus Bronze

Only 2 things I can figure it might be - I havent flashes the BIOS on my mobo since I got it in Summer 2011.

I didnt uninstall the nvidia drivers because I didnt think I needed to when upgrading to another nvidia card.

Can anyone help me out?
 
If you still got your old card, slap it in. if on board vga turn it on.

make sure your card is seated properly. I cant tell the times I have not seated it:confused:

do you get any beeps? if so how many.
Google your MB and 770. my 2 cents.
 
1st thing is to update the BIOS, if that don't work unplug all unneccesary things that you don't need to POST, i.e. all usb 2.0/3.0 items, ssd/hdd. try with just 1 stick or ram too.
 
If you're happy flashing the BIOS, I'd try that. Shouldn't be too scary if your mobo has Dual Bios.

I had the same problem going from 6870 (PCIe 2.0) > 7970 (PCIe 3.0), although the new PCIe 3.0 card should be backwards compatible with 2.0 - but this could be a red herring.

I had previously upgraded my GA68X-UD3H to a UEFI-type BIOS, but swapping to the new card stopped the PC from booting, not even a "beep". With on-board graphics (no card fitted) it was fine, with the old card back in it was fine, and I tried re-seating the new card several times with no luck. :(

So I updated to the latest (Beta!) UEFI-BIOS, and I now have a working 7970 Matrix Platinum. :)

Check the newer BIOS notes for anything relating to PCIe compatibility/support. Or just get the latest (ideally non-Beta) BIOS and try it, you've got nothing to lose (unless you brick your mobo). :mad:
 
Hmm, I may be getting my wires crossed here, I was thinking that it didnt work with a sandybridge, but it might just be that you can no longer OC the sandybridge with the new BIOS
 
what are you talking about?

new BIOS adds support for newer CPUs, it doesn't remove support for the ones already supported in older BIOSes.

it also adds new features and compatibility without removing the existing ones.
