what do you recommend for playing crysis reasonably?

This is my current spec
AMD Athlon 64 3500+ @2.2ghz AM2
ASUS A8M2N-LA motherboard AM2 1 pci expressx16 up to pc5300 ram
1gb pc4300 ram (2x512)
BFG 8800gts 320mb
500w Jeantech PSU

AMD is fine then, which processer to choose though so many! i saw the 6000+ but they are all gone and a bit expensive

Ok just been looking at the so called requirements for Crysis:

Minimum Requirements

CPU: Athlon 64 3000+/Intel 2.8ghz
Graphics: Nvidia 6600/X800GTO (SM 2.0)
RAM: 768Mb/1Gb on Windows Vista
HDD: 6GB
Internet: 256k+
Optical Drive: DVD
Software: DX9.0c with Windows XP

Recommended Requirements

CPU: Dual-core CPU (Athlon X2/Pentium D)
Graphics: Nvidia 7800GTX/ATI X1800XT (SM 3.0) or DX10 equivalent
RAM: 1.5Gb
HDD: 6GB
Internet: 512k+ (128k+ upstream)
Optical Drive: DVD
Software: DX10 with Windows Vista

not me! but what processer should i go for?

The higher model number the faster it is. Just buy what you can afford. The 5200+ is £105 delivered.

I would wait till crysis is out before you buy anything, by then the new AMD K8L cpus should be out which should be much faster than any AMD cpu you can buy currently.

You should mention your budget, the absolute max your willing to spend, I'm sure people can help you here then. Cos with your budget, you maybe able to upgrade to a C2D?

im not overclocking so should i not stick with amd?

Maybe, but if possible its always good to keep the PC as futureproof as possible, and if you have a budget that is good enough, its worth splashing out on a c2d.

What is ya budget?
