Upgrading from an Intel 9900K, do I get a 13th Gen cpu or is it worth waiting for the 14th Gen

I am constantly debating this (have a 9900KF) however, investment/performance value means it's not worth it for me. I'm playing at 4K with a 4090 and it's flawless in games.

I am sure I will buckle sooner or later but for now it would mean DDR5 and so on so you are looking at £1500+ for 20% and that's only when you stress it.

It doesn't necessarily mean DDR5, DDR4 boards are also available and probably the best option if you have decent RAM you can re-use.

Well I did, but my DDR4 was over 6 years old.

Does your current system serve your needs. If it does? Don't upgrade

I dont see the point in upgrading if your pc does eveything you want,, I did that and regretted it big time as it was like setting my money on fire..... I have still got my trusty i7 [email protected] and it still does everything I need from it, plus I dont really game much anymore, so I can see my system lasting years yet. And its my rubbish 5700xt gpu thats holding everything back, but with not doing much gaming its totally fine.
