How much of a difference would it make if I replaced my radeon 6450 with a 7770? :) say I wanted to play Team Fortress 2 at max graphics what sort of FPS would I get when I am getting about 20FPS with all settings at max on the 6450?

2GB 7850 would be nice, sadly you have missed the AMD never settle games bundle which helped justify the price. If buying new don't get a 1GB GPU it's false economy in my eyes.

If you don't mind 2nd hand, a 1GB Nvidia 460 would be MUCH better than the 7770, I've seen the 460 and AMDs 6850 go for ~£50 on our MM here not too long ago.

1GB 460 vs 7770

460 wins and adds CUDA and Physx support. It's also winning at a low clock speed, most 1GB versions came factory overclocked. My EVGA came a 763Mhz, I now run it at 875mhz. With the new drivers I still find it very capable for use in my HTPC/Console killer.
