The Asus Striker II NSE is an LGA 775 motherboard.

The motherboard you've linked is LGA 1155.

The processor out of your old motherboard won't fit in the new one so are you planning on changing that as well?

The new motherboard only supports SATA drives so if any of yours are IDE then they're not compatible unless you want to try IDE to SATA adapters.

Also what sort of DDR3 RAM do you have?

If you upgrade to a Sandy Bridge/Ivy Bridge processor compatible with the new motherboard then it ideally needs to run at 1.60V or less.

Was thinking of an i5/i7 processor but still not sure which one but want to try future proof as much as possible. I have a wd caviar black 2b hdd which is sata6gbs.
I have crucial basllistix ddr3 10600 4 x2gb.
I went for 850w psu because that is what I have at the moment.

What make/model is the PSU may i ask? 850W is MASSIVE overkill for the GPU you are running. A good 550W-650W is ample unless you want to be running some serious high end gear.

Why not look at a modular PSU instead with a slightly lower wattage if you really need a PSU. I'll add an alternative to your choice and a cheaper one too

Yip i've used one in a build, the cables arent braided but it still does the job very well. I actually prefered the bequiet L8 630W but that's not longer stocked here.

aye i think i know the one u mean. its all down to budget.

biggest problem people have is, they have a budget start off with the shiney bits like the case mobo proccessor gpu then see whats left for a psu. if people start with the psu then work there way down i think there will be less of the no name brand 800w timebomb threads.

I wish they would bring it back into stock. I use it/recommend it a lot, last price i paid was £68 tops.

In case the OP wonders. Modular PSUs have removable cables, so you only use what you need, this means less clutter and better airflow in the case.

I dont know the make of psu (I am in a wheelchair with limited movement so can only look when I have someone here - sorry.) but I have been having startup problems so thought I'd update and renew the internals.
I am running 2x 260 sli gpu's does that make a difference? My periphals all use usb. My pc was originally built by mesh.
What is a modular psu?

if u buy the retail then it comes with the heatsink and fax and 3 years more warranty.

the oem one only has the cpu and 1 years warranty.

u can usually get a bout 4ghz won the stock cooler. so its upto urself wheather to get an aftermarket cooler. most people do.

which heatsink and fan would you recommend - I need an easy application but good cooling. My house is kept warm so I dont get cold as I dont move.
What else do I need to upgrade/update - graphics card can come later. I assume the ones Ihave will just slot in like before.
