Morning,

I'm thinking of adding some more RAM, adding a new HDD and also looking to update BIOS. I bought a pre-overclocked system as per spec in sig.

1. If I add new RAM, will the RAM overclock settings aitomatically be applied to slots 2 & 4 or will I need to manually apply? If so, can I simply use the current slot 1 & 3 timings/freq?

2. When updating BIOS, do overclock settings get wiped? If they do (I've never overclocked myself), can I take a note of my current stable settings and simply re-apply?

Thanks for your help.

If you add some more ram, or even replace the existing ram, they will retain the clock settings already in the bios. They will only need re-setting up if you personally change the bios.

If you do update the bios, i reccomend resetting everything to defaults first anyway. Also, update the bios in dos, sooo many people have issues when updating through windows, and this can generally mean a new board/bios if it goes wrong. Also, reset the bios after it's been updated too, i do this out of good practice, shouldn't really do anything, but it seems to fix quite a few pepoles issues when flashing the bios.

Taking note of the settings before the bios is flashed and then re-setting them up after it's been flashed shouldn't cause any issues, adn should have the pc running as it was before, although somethimes certain bios fixes may require a little more tweaking rather than just setting everything back to the way it was, just something to take note of if everything isn't working quite as it was...

Thanks.

Noob question coming, is there an easy way to reset to default settings if I don't know what the default settings are?

Also, if I'm not experiencing any issues, is it worth updating the BIOS?

Tar much.
