Uploadit.org Gone?

Appears to be working for me as well. I don't know what their site looked like in the first place, but something sensible is appearing.

IP = 78.47.91.138

Their DNS looks a bit off as www.uploadit.org resolves, but uploadit.org doesn't.

Down for me as well at the moment.

It must be working to some extent as I can see duplicate images in ANDARIAL's signature in post #9 above (but now I can't).

I would recommend using 000webhost and rehost image for firefox. Very handy and it's free!

Someone posted a link to this thread on my Facebook wall. I'm really sad to see UploadIt.org go down. I launched the site in 2004 and sold it in 2005 with nearly 10,000 users for a not inconsiderable amount of money. It's changed hands a few times since then.

I'm not sure if there's much I can do but feel free to give me a shout.

I might possibly have just discovered something. My forum signature has always been hosted on uploadit. I took a quick look at the url and it seems they are down due to hackers.

feel free to check premium1.uploadit.org for details but I'm not responsible if your pc melts

(nah it seems fine, just a crap leet hacker page).

Aye, I remember using it because of you, was far better than imageshack/photobucket at the time, still was in terms of loading speeds.

You guys may want to consider getting some hosting.

It's dirt cheap these days (Under £20 for a whole year) and they do backups every day. Plus it's much faster for everyone!

What do you think guys, is there any hope of ever getting my pictures back? I have been using uploadit.org since it started in 2004. I have a lot of pictures on there that I would like to retrieve!!
