It now sounds as though my elderly neighbour may have issues. The tears filled episode at my door was apparently not her first time. She has previously woken up the entire building at 4am (I wasn't there) after calling the fire brigade, her reason was a tiny leak in her sink.
I emailed UPS to explain, she has no evidence except "it was taken when your driver arrived".
Lesson learned, don't be emotionally blackmailed into sending a complaint, use only facts. I've gone from feeling extremely sorry for this woman to seriously doubting anything she has said, I'm utterly embarrassed now.
