**URGENT** Please help

What are you on about? the wording is exactly as you have it:rolleyes: please point out to me where any words have been altered?

My apologies there, I read it wrong, my eyes were prised open by matchsticks at that point last night:D, I really should have been in my bed by then!

The whole point, is as it stands, and pointed out again by others, for £60 more than the 6950/560's even if it does beat those cards, pretty pointless flushing your cash down the toilet for a very marginal ~3fps!

I think the 6970 and 570 are both very good cards and any difference in fps would not be noticable anyway so just buy the cheapest unless your thinking about sli, crossfire, eyefinity etc

Gents

Wow!!! I didn't think i would get this kind of response. Thanks to all of you.

OK so now the game has changed and I might be better off with a 560/6950 and OC? Am I correct in thinking that the chances of still getting a card that will take a bios flash to the next higher card is extremely slim. And so you are purely talking about an OC.

Also I might be better of waiting until tomorrow and see what the results are, although as goes FPS they're pretty much the same.

Do either manufacturer have major pros or cons like driver stability, regular updates, running hot, noisy, reliability etc.

Much appreciated

Yes, probably better off waiting until tomorrow or Wednesday for performance results, it's up to you which results you take with a pinch of salt though.

Imo, and some others, you are only paying a premium for above 6950/560's with very little return as some of the mentioned cards can surpass the card above them.

Remember overclocking is pot luck, you could get a cracker or one that won't overclock much at all.

My advice on Amd/Nvidia is get the one your used to as no doubt there will be cries of 'Amd's drivers are rubbish', which imo they are both good/bad as each other.

There's not many 6950's that unlock, it's pot luck now(literally) where as with the original reference 6950's you would have been looking at around 95%+ would have.

There is the Toxic which probably will(not guaranteed) by only flicking the bios switch(it's already done at the factory) but I wouldn't pay the extra premium as overclocking will almost get you the same results.

Whatever you decide to get, for the difference between 1Gb and 2Gb, do yourself a favour and get the 2Gb.

There could be a massive amount of moaning inbound:

'I only bought the 1Gb version I wish I got the 2Gb one!' :D
