If your motherboard supports DDR3 whcich I think it does (Z68X-UD3P-B3?) thne get a usb3 pen drive as it will be much quicker to transfer all that data. THIS has pretty good specs.

As for external hard drives, they would be a better option for transfer lots of data but pen drives are less hassle in my opinion.
I have a USB3 caddy from OCUk for about £12 and use variously SATA laptop drives and SSD drives.
So by spending on a cheap SSD for about £30 and the caddy, you have a large flash drive.
