USB pen drive write protected

Does your flash drive look like this?

If so, it's a PQI U172p. Almost there (I think).

eer no, it was one of these rubber bangle type ones, which I cut off on the off chance there was a switch for write protect somewhere under the rubber but there wasn't as we now know

So it now looks like this :~

you may as well crack it open now and look at the chips. They usually fall apart, I've certainly had usb sticks just crumble after much use

Took it to bits and it's bit different to ones i've seen before, it's just a small PCB with this on it :
