Hi Marc...I think that's already in the list.

Yeah I thought it was. I thought Murray could do with an instant recommendation. I used HD Tune recently at work so I could vouch for that particular program.
Should add Hiren's BootCD to the list since it has many of the apps listed plus a boat load more like Memtest and all sorts!

NZB Completion Checker, make sure that you can get enough files/pars to actually rebuild the file you're trying to get.
Been a while but I've found another free Windows app.

I've started using 7stacks which is an excellent utility for making pop-out 'stacks' of shortcuts/files etc from icons on the Windows 7 taskbar. Great, cleaner alternative to desktop docks and quick launch menus.
IObit uninstaller. This program will remove 64bit programs, I don't think revouninstaller detects 64bit programs yet.

It's also available as a portable version

Can anyone recommend me a program to record the desktop (like CamStudio) AND let me add text/captions. I've been asked to do some training after work/help sheets for staff who want to know how to do certain IT tasks. I immediately thought of CamStudio, which I've installed this evening, and RoboDemo. I used RoboDemo in 2003 I think and it is now Adobe Captivate.
I want to be able to record whatever happens on screen and then to be able to add text to the video, almost like subtitles, so I can show staff what I'm doing and then explain why I'm doing something to produce a video with subtitles to be kept on the shared drives available to staff for when they want to quickly check how to do something.
Not sure if this is posted in this thread(did a quick search ).
However Secunia PSI is a very handy free tool, you can get it from here http://secunia.com/products/consumer/psi/
Many thanks to this thread, I managed to recover all my holiday snaps from the past ten days when my memory card threw a wobbler.
Always the first stop for me when some software is needed. CHEERS!
Cool!
Nice to know the list still gets a lot of use eh?
Thought you did! Found anything cool of late?
I've been looking for a quick way to convert an audio file (m4a) to mp3 for my phone tone and found this site which also does way more online for free:
