Back in High school i used this software called Crocodile Clips as part of my Design Technology course,Brilliant software back then,Now renamed & its improved a lot...free to home users.

Only works out of school hours last time I checked though.

Use it for Electronics work from time to time but it does have certain vital chips missing.

Can anyone recommend me a program to record the desktop (like CamStudio) AND let me add text/captions. I've been asked to do some training after work/help sheets for staff who want to know how to do certain IT tasks. I immediately thought of CamStudio, which I've installed this evening, and RoboDemo. I used RoboDemo in 2003 I think and it is now Adobe Captivate.

I want to be able to record whatever happens on screen and then to be able to add text to the video, almost like subtitles, so I can show staff what I'm doing and then explain why I'm doing something to produce a video with subtitles to be kept on the shared drives available to staff for when they want to quickly check how to do something.

I recommend FSCapture. Try before buy. $20 for lifetime upgrades. Great tool.
