UT2004 is back!

I remember playing 2003 to death but I don't think I played 2004 for some reason. I wish games were still as pure as this.

UT99, the OG and best.

However I downlaoded it and whilst it works, it's not the original. I don't understand why devs re-create or bring back originals but then have all new sounds, maps and modifiers which make it worse.

I just want maps like Deck16, Morpheus, Phobos, Crane, Hyberblast, Face, Grinder, Gothic & Tempest.

It just makes me want to stick with playing the game in practice mode with bots on auto adjust skill.

Maybe it's changed but when I played it a year or two ago it was just UT99 but with changes to make it run on modern hardware and improved textures etc. All original maps and modes were there but some servers were running custom maps and modifiers but that used to be the case back in the day also.

Been away this week but might have to fire it up again when I'm home tomorrow

Never did play ut 2004, but 99 was unreal, quality game, minigun and flak cannon were 2 favourites, and a great soundtrack

99 was an awesome game, but for me UT2004 had the edge. Mainly because of teamwork.. if you get a team where you all worked together it was extremely satisfying.. conversely, if you ended up on a team of people playing for themselves it was painful, but with no teamwork thankfully short lived :)..

But just for those moments, of your base being attacked, and having a few people work together as a team, to come back from that was brilliant.
