Utility to diagone drive

My hard drive is always making a grinding noise like it's always doing something it starts as soon as I boot my computer.

This might be normal but I wanted to know what a good utility was to check the drive and see if there are any issues.

Yeah, back up any important data on that drive and start with the most important first just in case it fails while you do it. :)

Then once all the data you want is backed up, continue with the scans.

If it's in warrantee then get it RMAed. (probably best to wipe the drive beforehand if possible)
 
HD Tune will no longer load. when I try opening it up just shows in the taskbar but no window comes up.

What's going on
 
I am a bit confused and could do with some help guys.

Basically I gave ran the ES Tools utility from Samsung for my Samsung disk and it has passed all the tests and no errors were detected.

I have also run some other utilities and they say the same.

It is only HD Tune that shows up errors, I have got a feeling this might be wrong as I have nothing else to support this.

The noise I am experiencing may just be the way the drive is operating. I have backed everything up to be sae but a bit confused now.
