Lol never thought of that - got me scared now :S

Can they be changed?
Options > Preferences > Advanced > User Interface > Search Engines

Defaults are:
Don't see a problem with any other than the last two, TBH.

Can uTorrent themselves not track what people are searching, because the searches seem to always go through their domain:

Code:
http://search.utorrent.com/search.php?q=hy&e=http%3a%2f%2ftorrentspy.com%2fsearch.asp%3fquery%3d&u=1

I thought that all the concerns about uTorrent not being safe anymore was because it is no longer a one man project. It had always been maintained by one person, but now its being developed by a team and the original creator is now just a 'consultant' to the project.
Version 1.7 is the first release since the this change, which is why everyone is scared that it will no longer be safe.

Why would it not be safe? What are they going to do? That's like saying you shouldn't browse porn using Windows because MS might see what your doing and laugh at you for liking some freaky fetish. Or that you shouldn't use any ISP at all, as they can see everything you do online, including all your passwords etc.

Just because more or bigger people are involved, does not mean they are going to do anything bad :p

Porn isnt something to be ashamed of, if ms wants to see my pron then I'd say go ahead.
Passwords are encrypted.
Besides, ISP's need people like me to survive, they want my money and give me good internet back, while dirty mpaa gives me nothing, they just spy on all my utorrent searches and give me nothing.

The bigger people this time, the mpaa, are evil , microsoft or my isp are nothing compared to them !
