The General was a '69 - centre bar in the front, rectangular rear lights, different side indicators.

Dandle said:Yeah didnt think about the Dodge bit. The motor in the dodge is very lazy though in comparision.
And most B and RB Dodge engines can be built to rev - a guy I know has a '69 Charger Daytona (the Charger 500 + nose cone and huge rear wing, built for NASCAR) with a Hemi that will rev to 9000rpm quite happily. Fairly pointless, as it makes enough torque to bend time at low revs anyway, but it sounds glorious!
9000 RPM out of a 426!? That's a fairly long stroke motor. The bottom end he's running must be built like the pyramids.

And it's not a 426ci motor either - 528ci, produces somewhere in the region of 630 ponies. Last time I rode in the car he decided to plant his right foot, at about 8500rpm in 3rd the entire world started to blur! He still has the matching numbers 426ci motor for if/when he decides to sell the car....can't see him ever doing that though!
