Valentines day

Anyone got any "original" ideas? :)
My original idea is to sit in the house with a few beer. I spent a fortune on Valentines day last year, what a bloody rip off :p

I might sing the national anthem or something, that counts as showing love doesn't it?

Man with girlfriend/wife can't afford to get bored with flowers and meals out :p

I would still do the flowers and meal etc, maybe send the flowers to her workplace then cook the meal yourself :)

Found it!

Any original idea would be specific to the two of you. If you have any significant places/foods/gifts etc. from when you were first going out etc. You could try to replicate or parallel that. Whether its a small thing or something more extravagant, the gesture seems a lot bigger than just generic flowers and chocolates, and meal at the local italian restaurant.

Whilst I disagree with the concept of valentines day, and realise its a sham by the gift companies, it can have significance with partners - and making the effort usually garners its rewards :p

I have a great idea - weather permitting - but I can't say because she reads the forums (hello!) so it wouldn't be a surprise if I posted what it is.
