Valentines day

Yeah, I wish it was looking so bright for me. :(

Aww, me and the ex used to send cards to the kids in case they didn't get one, don't have to these days. I got a couple of cards last year but I think they may have been returning the favour :o

Valentines day is a waste of time, if you love someone do you really need only one day a year to show them how you feel?

Exactly :). If my boyfriend was so useless that he needed a made up holiday to treat me and take me out for a meal, then I don't think I'd bother with him :p. Go out and buy presents when you feel like doing so, not when society dictates you should.

So you wouldn't mind if your boyfriend made absolutely no effort on valentines day at all?

I try to be romantic whenever I have the chance - we've been going out for over a year and a half now and still even celebrate our anniversary monthly - but that doesn't mean I'm not going to make an effort on valentines day; quite the opposite.

Well yes love should be all year round, but Valentines day is a nice reason to do those things all on one day. It'd be dire if it was the only romantic day - agreed. But I don't think there is nothing wrong with having an extra day to make your OH feel special.

We did nothing last year, and it suited us both fine. I expect the same amount of effort this year.

I kind of agree with the current attitudes toward modern marketing but there area a few traditions I'll continue to respect despite the force fed hype and trends.

Did you work that out? :)

It's a nice idea, and good to see romance still exists :p , even though myself I am a little jaded with loved today. :(

Im just waiting for some money to come into my account before I can book the Eurostar tickets... booked the hotel and restaurant already though.

Unfortunately now the Eurostar tickers are £40 more than when I checked last week :(

Changed.

When are you giving me my ticket - you know you'd have far more fun with me there!

If anyone's looking for somewhere nice in London to go check out the restaurant at the Oxo tower - with views over St Paul's Cathedral and the river it's beautiful. If you're wanting a drink beforehand I, as ever, recommend the rockwell bar in Trafalgar square

flowers to work place - always goes down well. :)

and maybe make her a bath for when she gets in to relax, then take her away for a dirty night of passion somewhere. my local car park is nearly always empty :D

I don't have any plans or anyone to share the day with this year.

This is the argument people had on the run up to Christmas, what a load of tosh. In that case why celebrate anything or ever make an extra special effort. I put loads of effort into Christmas and reaped the reward, it was absoloutly fantastic.

Celebrating Valentines doesn't mean you neglect someone the rest of the year, it's a day to take a break from the day to day and show your full attention and appreciation, something that in the fast pace of life isn't always possible.
