This and Demons Souls are the best games on the PS3 bar none IMO, I'd put them above the likes of Uncharted and MGS4.
Both games are exceptional what they do, but at the same time dont follow general gaming trends which is what I think makes them both so special (and perhaps a taste of why we sometimes lose out so much in the EU, primarily getting US-styalised games rather than more inventive/bizzare/traditional japanese titles)

Its exclusives like this that sell a console; or draw you to PC, as they offer you something that very little else does.
I finally got managed to beat the giant tank about 6 months ago and haven't played it since, as I stopped playing due to time and never got back into it, but its definately still on my list and I fully intend to finish it.
As mentioned the characterisations are decent, the story decent, its a good shot at a realtime strategy RPG and the graphics are good. Virtually everything a game should be. The little touches like a trooper named and modeled after Skies' Vyse just make it all the better.

Yeh, I know, wonder if you could hack it to play PS3 games...
Go for the PS3.
Probably will if there are some good deals in the new year...now if they bundled Demon's Souls with it...

Seems unlikely to happen for a long time unfortunately.
There's no plans for an actual European release afaik.

ps3 slim can be had for £217 with uncharted 2 (or any top 20 title) somewhere

I've suddenly got the urge to buy this, but I'd love to see more DLC and trophies!! I read something on PS blog a few months ago, where one of the Sega PR guys said that this could happen if there was enough demand for it, but I've not read/heard anything since.
It'd be cool if you guys could give me a hand chasing this up... send a tweet to @ValkyriaTribune demanding for more content!
