Valorant

Still enjoying this despite it having one of the most toxic player bases I have ever seen. So far had to make a few tickets for utterly disgusting racists and got a few banned. So bad you have to turn off voice chat. I'm tempted to try use a VPN and play with the us at this point.

I still hop on for a game maybe once a week or so, but I'm not playing regularly like I was. The effort to stay at a high level at my age means I need to be playing it every day, my mouse aim perishes so fast when I don't play! I just don't have the time or the inclination to play as much as that.

The skin prices take the absolute michael as well. The dragon ones worked out at about £90 didn't they?

I'm kind of the same. I was getting okay at the game but I wouldn't play for a couple of days and then just couldn't compete at my rank anymore and felt like I was starting from the beginning again. Log on every now and again with friends though.

Still getting random micro stutters that make it feel like 30fps not the listed 150fps. Wondering if I need a cpu upgrade as its quite a lower end I think. i5 6400 with 16GB ram and GTX1080. Anyone else with a similar setup experience this?

I've just started playing this as a change from CS:GO & Warzone.
Quite enjoying it though I really don't make the best use of powers. I end up relying on my gunplay more as a result but it does add a nice different dynamic to get used to.
I can't decide on what agent to really get used to at the moment either. I feel like i'm useless with most of the powers.

Edit: Does seem quite heavily populated by whiny teens right now but easy enough to ignore. Not had anything annoying otherwise other than someone that exclusively got HSs and was dodgy as hell generally for an unranked game.
The only other downside I think is that each game has a few too many rounds to win. Leavers would be less of an issue if the games weren't so long. I had to leave my first game I played as I didn't realise there were so many rounds and was only testing the thing out. I tend to play Spike Rush as a result at the moment.

Leavers are less of an issue in comp, although you do still get a leaver maybe 1 in 4 games? You just hope it's the opposition!

I'm only Bronze 2 at the moment, but for fun threw together a couple of days of highlights :)

I'm really liking Rayna. If you can get on a bit of a kill roll, you can often just keep going!

I still like it though I no longer play solo queue at all as too many toxic people. Even a 2-3 stack cuts down on the odds of this massively and leads to better games in my experience. I play to win and people flaming and being toxic just brings the team down. Everyone has terrible games sometimes and my experience in the middle ranks (gold-plat) is that everyone in that bracket can top frag one game and bottom the next seemingly at random.

Still plagued with leavers - Had one leaver after 2 rounds calling our team crap (after 2 rounds!!!) - then he appears back after 7 rounds, then another leaver at 11-8 down, different person.

Pointless playing at times if they do nothing about this.

Quite the nerf to sage coming tomorrow. A bit gutted, she's one of my most played!

Diamond 3 currently but not far from immortal hopefully :)

100% = Sage is my most played and she's been hammered on healing!

Heal
  • Heal reduced from 100 over 5 seconds >>> 60 over 5 seconds
  • Self heal reduced from 100 over 5 seconds >>> 60 over 10 seconds

gutted

Par for the course really with these kind of games. Part of the reason I tend to just play like 64 player Lockers on BF4, etc. instead.

Done with this game tbh. Full of hackers now circumventing the anticheat. You report them it takes a few days you get a nice email saying they taken action but it's a free game so why bother. Was decent while it lasted.

It's impossible to stop people cheating entirely and the best anti cheat possible will never achieve that. What it can do though is detect the majority and make it very difficult for them to play again once banned. I don't know how Vanguard works but in other games the anti-cheat doesn't tend to ban people as soon as they're detected - It's more efficient to ban in batches because it keeps the cheat developers guessing at what was detected. For Valorant once you're banned you either need a new PC or a way to bypass the hardware ban, which is apparently not easy.

That said I haven't seen any obvious cheaters and I've played a lot of games.
