Valve Index VR

Tonights the night we normally do stuff. Around 8pm, let us know if you want to join in. If there's 5 we'll probably do something in rec room? Or maybe walkabout mini golf?

My Dad is coming round to watch the Man Utd v Aston Villa match tonight,so I probably can't make it tonight!

My username is: Jambo791874 if anyone wants to add me.

Have you tried the Lab yet? It's on Steam and it's free. It's a fantastic introduction into VR.

EDIT: if you liked DreamDEck, you will like the Lab. :)

I haven't yet, going to complete star wars squadron first, before moving to Alyx.

I have been using the fibre cable with squadron, and to be honest I haven't found the cable annoying, but you don't really need to move around with squadron.

So,I will see how it goes with the cable connected and Alyx.

If you are using the cable, you should try the following to make it look better. Open open the Oculus Debug tool(ODT). It can found in the directory where you installed the Oculus software on your PC. So if you installed it on the C: drive, the ODT tool will be located in C:\Program Files\Oculus\Support\oculus-diagnostics

Run the tool and go down to "Encode Bitrate" It's value should be "0" which is the default. Try changing it to "250" hit enter and then select "restart Oculus services" from the top menu.

Just remember to set it back to "0" if you want to use Airlink.

Okay,will try that!

I don't think your to do list is long enough :p:D

It's getting longer everyday, which can only be a good thing :)

So,I've pretty much decided I'm going to keep the Quest 2.

I think for the money it's very good value and to be honest,I don't want to spend anymore on a headset at this time!

Going to order the Bobovr M2 strap to try out.

Ah nice one good decision, quest 2's hold their value well too so if/when u decide to upgrade or that you're just bored of it you'll get a decent amount back.
About the strap, do u not find the standard one comfy? I do.

I do find it comfy, but the battery life sucks.

So I'm hoping the strap will make it even more comfy with the added battery life!

you might find the original comfy for a while, i did, then i changed it as it was pulling down at the front, and if i tighten it , then its too tight and gives me pains in my head, so i changed it for a few different ones, happy with how i got it now

if you looking for a new strap , i think the bobo m2 should be a very good strap along with the official elite strap if you want to spend more

but there is another alternative , that's supposed to be as good as the bobo or better or equivalent to the Elite strap
its the Kiwi Design

Yeah,I heard about the kiwi strap.

But with the Bobovr M2 it should increase the comfort aspect and with the added battery life it provides, I thought I would try it first.

I use something like this:

Which slips into the original strap. I then use something similar to this:
Powerbank-Fixing-Battery-Holder-Compatible-with-Oculus-quest-2-HTC-Vive-Index-VR-Headset-Power-Bank.jpg_Q90.jpg_.webp

Which attaches to the original strap to hold any powerbank you have. I use a 20mAh at the moment.

Bought them for about £8. You can get similar things to these though. I've attached a bit of padding to the head thing. The nice thing about this is the original strap is easy to pack, easy to resize, and if I ever get the carry case I've ordered, stays nice and compact, whilst still being really comfy.

Sorry mate, but you must have a really odd shaped head if you find the default strap comfy, nobody else does.

Do you have £2000 spare? That will buy you a Varjo Aero, you'll get no blurry'ness, reviewers say its as good as a 4k monitor. The clarity is truly next level over current hmd's. I've bought one and i'm on a waiting list for delivery.
0% balance transfer credit cards are ace :D

but they also talk about barrel distortion which is unacceptable for the price, that needs to be fixed

Yeh the distortion is not ideal. Going by reviews ive seen of people who've actually received their Aero pre-orders, whether you'll notice the barrel distortion or that it bothers u seems hit or miss.
