*** Valve Steam Machine ***

Early 2026...

Valve can't even keep the Steam Deck in stock anymore. I think they will release the controller and cancel the Machine.
They're in a weird spot - release now at an inflated price and it's probably DoA. Release once/if prices stabilise a bit but then then hardware will be even more outdated.

Maybe they're trying to build up stock to keep the price sane.

They won't, there are already indications that a launch is nearing based on some recent page updates on the website of the retailer Valve use in Japan.

Steam controller review

$100 for the Steam Controller is pretty bad value. I paid £13 for my Gamesir Nova Lite with Hall Effect sticks or if you really must have TMR you could get the Gamesir Cyclone 2 for £30. Both these controllers work with PC, Mac, Android and Switch / Switch 2. People have been conditioned into paying ridiculous prices for controllers by Sony, Nintendo and Microsoft.

The Steam Machine is 100% going to be terrible value if this controller is anything to go by.

When you compare it to elite or ps edge controller it’s not that bad

New standard Xbox/ps controllers are what £65 now so they have put themselves in middle.

It’s just weather it’s any good is the question

I have two of those GameSir controllers and they are fantastic value for money. I think I paid around £15 for the pair. The only real downside is the battery life isn't the best.
£85 for the Steam controller is steep even if it does have track pads.

Where are you finding the Cyclone 2 for £30, £50 appears to be the price point.
