I ordered some stuff from a competitor the other day but i'm now in the process of RMA'ing it. However i noticed that they calculate the VAT on things after shipping

The thing i bought was £25 without VAT, shipping was £4.95 THEN they added the VAT  Are they allowed to do this? It's only a small amount extra (about 86p or something) but if they do it to every order they'd make a fair bit

Yes they are, OcUK do it too.

Yeah just noticed that. Surely it's not a service they provide themselves so they don't need to charge VAT on it as it's included in the price the courier would charge?

The delivery charge will still have VAT to be paid, they simply list it minus VAT and add that in later. While it is a bit lame, it's perfectly legal.

They'd make nothing out of it as they have to pay all the VAT to HMRC.......

You bad, bad person.

The headphones i wanted were on pre-order only on OCUK. Out of stock i guess, however you have a second chance at getting my money as soon as i RMA this ;)

Outside the walls. I have seen many things, and many times I thought I would never make it back here.

walls

I hope you mean firewalls. I don't know these solid walls you talk off, from that mystical land.

so when OCUK pay for the delivery service, the delivery service charges vat in their price, so when you pay OCUK for the delivery, vat is charged agian, dont see why mr fat brown should get a slice twice for the same serivce?
