Vegan sausage

Does she reciprocate this concession and have a few days a week where she eats meat?

Do you think there's an equivalence? Veganism has different motivators, moral, ethical, environmental, medical etc. Eating meat, that's a taste preference right?

I love steak\chicken\pork\lamb etc. but I know which way the world is going. Eating meat in 30 years time will be viewed the way smoking is now. I quit smoking, I'll have to quit meat no doubt. :p

Edit - Yet to try the Greggs vegan sausage roll. Quite curious about it. If it tastes better or the same I'll make the swap. Especially as it has more protein in it.

Sadly it isn't as nice as the meat version as some of the stories would have you believe. The filling was a lot softer and lacked texture/bite. BUT, the flavor was similar, the pastry was fine considering the lack of eggs and it was absolutely fine. Would deffo not replace the meat version but could certainly see me choosing it on occasion when I was trying to be good!

Quorn chicken nuggets taste more like McNuggets than McNuggets do :o
My wife is a vegetarian. Being a major meat devourer I have to sometimes put up with vegetarian grub. I am not overly fond of Quorn stuff but their Nuggets and Southern style bugers are not bad at all.

As for everything else I've tried including Linda McCartney junk...I'd be better off having a meal that consisted of KFC fries.

the problem is you are just looking for some kind of meat substitute and using premade processed vegetarian junk which is really a waste of time and money.

If you want to add vegetarians meals to your diet then you need to cook actual vegetarian meals, not fake meat slurry.

Oh yeah, I get what you mean and we do cook vege meals when we have the time, which end up being great.

It's just that there are some days when you haven't the time to cook and turn to supermarket grub - which seem to be dry, rubbish.

The Gregg's sausage rolls look grim.

The Vegan ones?

Tried one, nicer pastry and nicer filling tbh far prefeered it to their normall sausage rolls.
They standard ones are utter dross now lol

Jackfruit is unreal. It really is the best meat substitute ever.

I'm full on carnivore, but would like to cut back a bit on the meat I eat mainly because it is healthy to do so.

Jackfruit makes that possible. I make a mean curry with it.

Any recipes mate? Picked up a few cans but not gotten round to them as yet.
I was plannign on just doign what I normally do but simply replace the meat with the fruit

Funny, I'm not a sausage eater at all but had my annual craving for a sausage muffin with a generous layer of brown sauce today.

Linda McCartney stuff was on sale for a £1 and had far better macros than your regular sausage so thought why not. If honest, pleasantly surprised by the taste and texture. With a nice toasted muffin and a lot of brown sauce, pretty passable in a sandwich.

Only complaint was that it was quite dry but it has far less fat than the meat version and was grilled in the oven so expected.
