Currently got a Vertex 2e 60gb ssd and need a little more space so I am thinking of moving up to a M4 128gb ssd.

Would I notice any speed increase besides benchmarks? Anyone done it?

Would be used for os/games and mobo is a P67a-UD4-B3.

Windows sure does boot a bit faster. Did not really notice games load faster, but then again I don't play the same games all the time to oever notice even f it was a 50% improvement. So if loading went from say 20 seconds to 16 seconds, I would not notice.

But I do notice windows definitely loading quicker, which obviously would mean other things are faster too :D

My windows logo does not even form before windows is loads ;)

I say go for it if you need more space like I did, not just for a bit of speed. Great ssd, no problems with it.

My 2E did form, strange. Anyway, benchies confirm that my M4 is quite a bit faster. Sold my 2E for £60 (not bad as I got it for £82 nearly a year before selling), so total cost was £110 to go from 60gb to 128gb which is a faster drive. Won't be upgrading for a good few years now.

The next ssd I get will likely be a pci-e card, as it's pointless upgrading to an ssd that even maxes out sata3 now as I would likely not see much difference. Those Revo 3's look like specs I would like in 2 years for around £100 for say 120gb :)

I doubt you'll notice much real difference in feel, doubling my speeds/iops by going RAID0 Intel X25-M's didn't make a big difference for me outside of benchmarks. Sustained transfers should be better and the extra space is always handy though.
